Client: South Taranaki District Council
Project: People Development Programme
The Need
The changing nature of the role of local government – from one of regulatory processes to responsibility for long term community planning and leadership – required this client to restructure its organisation and management practices to fit the new role.
The Solution
Nexus Partners worked alongside STDC during its initial re-structure and developed the People Development Programme to re-align management and staff practices within the new organisation. The first part of the project took place over an 18-month period, and we are still working closely with this client on an ongoing basis. The elements of this client project have included:
1. Facilitating the development of a customer service vision for the organisation
2. Delivering leadership training for senior, second tier and third tier managers
3. Conducting an annual climate survey
4. Conducting internal and external customer service surveys
5. Facilitating annual 360 Degree Feedback
6. Designing and delivering a 12-module skills training programme for all staff
7. Designing and delivering induction training programmes
8. Facilitating an annual senior management strategic planning session
9. Providing coaching/mentoring services
10. Providing change management support services during a major re-structuring project
The project has gained recognition and received best practice awards from the local government sector.
